TREASURE HUNT

DAY 7

Good Luck Guys !  Ho Ho Ho
If you go wrong on the map, just refresh the page and start again.

Today you are still in Italy but in the wonderful City of Rome

Treasure Hunt Instructions

Today you will need to find three numbers, not words.
You are looking at the beautiful Pantheon, take a look inside and look up! The Pantheon is a former Roman temple, originally built before Jesus was born but burned down, as did the second. This is now the third version built 125 years after baby Jesus was born, 125AD. And since the year 609AD it's been a Catholic church. It's been a church for 1412 years !!
  1. You need to do some shopping first! Head to the left of the Pantheon and there is a tiny narrow street Via Del Seminario on the left. You need to buy a Plaque that says "I ♥ Roma" I believe a souvenir shop in this street sells them. How many Euros will you need to buy the plaque? That is your first number.
  2. Continue down the narrow street, straight ahead, you will go through several Piazzas . When the road splits into two, take the left road and you will arrive at a main road. As you arrive at the main road, there is a bus passing. What is the number of that bus?  That is your second number.
  3. Turn left onto this busy road. Continue and then take the second street on the right.
  4. Continue all the way down this road until you come to a piazza where there is a beautiful white Roman Building and a world famous fountain.
  5. Now you have to find, somewhere in the piazza, the missing number in English that goes here (....)
         PERFECIT BENEDICTVS  .......  PON. MAX
         maybe on a building?

Congratulations, that is your third number.

  • Fact: When you see a year date eg. 19BC this means 19 years Before Christ, Before baby Jesus was born
  • Fact: AD stands for Anno Domini, Latin for “in the year of the Lord” After Christ. So the date 125AD means 125 after Jesus was born.
  • The Trevi Fountain dates back to ancient Roman times, since the construction of the Aqua Virgo Aqueduct in 19 B.C. that provided water to the Roman baths and the fountains of central Rome.
  • The fountain was built at the end point of the aqueduct, at the junction of three roads. These three streets (tre vie) give the Trevi Fountain its name, the Three Street Fountain.
  • It is illegal to fish out coins from the fountain. In the past it was common for gangs of thieves to sweep the coins out of the fountain at night.
  • When the fountain is open, roughly €3,000 is thrown into it every day as people follow the tradition of throwing coins over their shoulders
